8 Points To Monetize Your Blog With Paid Posts
I apologies for being not very active over the bloggers magazine recently, I was working on lots of exciting new projects but always keeping blogging for fun and money. Many bloggers were interested into monetizing their blogs and I was sharing with some friends lots of tips that I'll post here also, but this wasn't really our main focus especially that there are lots of great blogs such as Problogger and Performancing who are more specialized in this topic.

You probably heard about people making more than $10k from paid posts only and you are wondering if you are eligible to make such good money easily. Today I'm coming back with 8 points to monetize your blog with Paid Posts, hope this will open your mind to new alternative that you don't know or still thrilled to experiment.
1- The niche that earn big
First of all there is a major question that needs an answer for paid posts blogs, which niche can make more money? Gadgets, Stars, Food, Games,...? For paid posts I noticed that the more generalist your blog is, the more posts you are able to access and certainly the highest revenue you can generate. Of course specialized blogs are better, but in just one case : once they are popular ! The problem for new bloggers that they don't have a higher Page Rank, are not in the top 100'000 alexa rank, don't have enough traffic so they can access mainly low rate paid posts. But this is not bad for newbie, I can show you how you can make good money with it !
2- How vital are Paid posts
The second question will be how vital paid posts are ?! Personally I'm following the advertising business since many years and I find this question very ambiguous, especially that currently there are many great services for paid posts, but the future is uncertain. It is always interesting for bloggers to have more than one source of revenue, so if you start with paid posts and after one year for example you find the revenue slowing down, you will have already created lots of articles that can generate some good money with conventional advertising : AdSense, Chitika, Amazon, ... etc.
3- a Paid posts only blog ?!
I personally do not recommend a paid post only blog, it can generate lots of money but will be not really useful over the time. I better suggest to keep paid post frequency moderated with some other posts and news from time to time, and remember it's more interesting to create an audience even that you don't generate any revenue at all in the beginning, better than making some money the firsts months and then find your blog very boring and you will start fighting against apathy. Notice that some service doesn't allow paid posts only blogs and require a 3:1 ratio of non-paid to paid content.
4- How influencing are you
The key of success of paid posts based blogs is how influencing the blogger is. This is the more interesting when you write reviews of products and service, does your opinion really matter ?! The key here is that you can make it matter by choosing a professional approach for your reviews : easy, simple and clear. Some blogger will try to fill the 100 or 200 words with anything just to get the money, this will be the worst strategy to adopt and remember that your objective is not to finish the review but to make your blogging worth. If this year you start by reviews for $10 only, next year you probably will have access to reviews of $100 and more. Don't try to target highest price reviews from the first day, because you are not ready for and probably have to cheat to get them.
5- Paid posts strategies
As I have already develop it previously, there are two main strategies for good paid posts, and I mean by "good" those who can make you more money than the review price itself.
a- New bloggers strategy
To start your business correctly, first choose your niche wisely and get a good domain name and website design, probably a logo also. This will not cost you more than $100 if you know what I mean, this will give your blog a professional look and make it more attractive for readers and advertisers. Be sure to adopt a long term strategy, for example start with a slow rate let's say 3 or 4 posts per day, this can generate $1k the first month ! Then when you find yourself more comfortable with your blog increase your rate slowly every month. Organizing your time is very important, also be sure to work only a certain hours per day only and find another activity to relax out of your office. This strategy can work very well if you like to work from home and have some resources for living for the first months.
b- Already established bloggers strategy
Bloggers who already have their blogs established will find it a little difficult to switch to paid posts, the reason is that they have already a niche, readers, quality posts ... etc. The best strategy here in my humble opinion is to become a "selective reviewer". Choose very carefully which paid posts to accept or no according to your blog topics, if you have a good page rank and traffic you can impose a higher price for reviews and with a minimum rate of 1 paid posts daily you can find yourself with an extra revenue for more than $3k per month at least. Some bloggers bid higher and accept just one or two reviews per month for the same highest revenue, but certainly this will depend on your blog and getting a single review for more than $1k is not very frequent so you can keep waiting.
6- Web Marketing for dummies
Title, URL, Keywords, content, and links. That's just five words but lots of work and experience. You should learn about every one of them, for example how to choose a good title to rank well in search engine, and also to attract readers to buy the product or service you are reviewing. Try to use optimized URLs for search engine, choose very carefully your main keywords, organize your content and your ideas, and then finally try as you can to get some links to your website. These topics you can learn about independently in many SEO websites, you can check for example our SEO Magazine for some articles and tutorials about SEO.
7- The hidden money
Now that we covered almost all topics related mainly to paid posts, there still some hidden money to never forget ! First thing are affiliates, it's an excellent source of revenue that many bloggers are not aware. While writing a paid post, try to check the service if they have an affiliate and register to get your affiliates links. This won't work from the first day, but it's interesting if your review works, you can generate much more money from the affiliate service. The second hidden money is advertising, as I have said previously with service like AdSense, Chitika, and Amazon you will be able to generate extra good revenue. Always remember for new bloggers that the beginning should be a little difficult and slow in advertising revenue, but day after day you will be more able to diversify your revenue sources and secure it.
8- From where should I start ?
Now you are ready to start ? There are many good services for paid posts if you are not already subscribed there, the ones I recommend : ReviewMe, PayPerPost. I was using these two services since their launch and personally impressed by both service.
Finally hope this will be useful to find your way into paid posts and reviews world, as you may notice getting money from blogging is not that difficult today, but definitely require lots of continuous work. All I can say is that results are guarantee ! Enjoy, and let me know if you have any comments or another point to add.
