Blogging Code Conduct

Tim O'Reilly called for a Blogging Code of Conduct, after what happened to Kathy Sierra and make her cancel her ETECH presentation. The current draft seems to focus more on comments and commenters, but I think it will be great if it could be generalized to include blogger conduct also. The Blogger Code of Conduct aims to help creating a culture that encourages both personal expression and constructive conversation. From the first draft :

  1. We take responsibility for our own words and for the comments we allow on our blog.
  2. We won't say anything online that we wouldn't say in person.
  3. We connect privately before we respond publicly.
  4. When we believe someone is unfairly attacking another, we take action.
  5. We do not allow anonymous comments.
  6. We ignore the trolls.

Tim announced that the blogging code conduct will be available very soon at http://www.bloggingcode.org/. Be sure to check it and comment on it.
