Mobile Blogging Toolbox (Part One)

Talking about mobile blogging again I wanted to update you with free tools that are very useful for blogging from your mobile phone, and that I'm currently using too. I went this week to buy a Nokia Wireless Keyboard SU-8W but didn't find it available, I'll post later about the hardware, equipment and gadgets that are very useful too for mobile blogging.

Mobile Browsers

I highly recommend Opera Mini, very comfortable for mobile browsing and its latest release 3 provide really a complete set of features that will make you enjoy reading the web from your mobile phone.

RSS Readers

Previously I was suggesting LiteFeeds which is a good java-based rss reader for mobile phone with a web interface to manage your feeds, but now I'm currently using widsets which I found more powerful and flexible to manage feeds in a very original concept. Widsets have also a web interface and is based on widgets which are very easily configurable to let you read your favorite feeds from your mobile phone.

Blogging software

Picoblogger remain the best mobile blogging tool in my opinion, I have been using this since its very first versions. The latest version is more community oriented and will let you not only post images and videos from your mobile to your blog but also provide you an interface to access the latest medias posted by the community picostation.

Calendar and notes

Most mobile phones have calendars and notes software, so here I won't recommend any software in precise but I'll recommend you just to use these tools to create notes while browsing web, use the calendar to organize your events and blogging activity. I'm using my mobile calendar very regularly to as notes software tool, and it's more interesting maybe to track things that you're going to blog about or you find interesting.

Conclusion

Since holidays are close many bloggers would love to stay in touch with their blogs with some photos or short notes saying hello to their readers, Mobile blogging will be in such cases a great alternative. Time to find the necessary software and install it, you have also to configure the software and test it before leaving. Many blogging software require a special configuration to activate mobile blogging, which is in general an additional password for the RPC or ATOM server.

Hope the bluetooth keyboard will be here for next post so we can talk more about gadgets and the mobile blogging station for more addicted mobile bloggers.
