Google added 90 days to accept AdSense referrals

AdSense referrals is certainly an excellent referral program where google offer $100 when the new user that you refer to adsense earn his first $100. Of course the new user should be new to adsense and never had an account before, so you can imagine someone new to adsense how much time he need to make his first $100 and we have already talked about this that it need at least 4-6 months.

Now AdSense added silently 90 days, what's these 90 days are about ?

Above the generated AdSense referral code you can read :

When a publisher that signed up for AdSense through your referral earns their initial $100.00 and is eligible for payout, we'll credit your account with $100.00. *

Looks like everything is okay ? but notice the asterisk and to what it refer in the bottom page :

* An AdSense referral is counted when a publisher, who has never previously enrolled in AdSense, creates an account and earns at least $100.00 within 90 days of sign-up. The referred publisher must be eligible for payment to qualify as a successful referral.

Now it's a little more complicated, the publisher you refer should earn $100 within 90 days of sign-up, it could be possible only if its an advanced publisher who have already a website running, guaranteed traffic, which most of them have already accounts.

There is another thing that you shouldn't miss which is : earns their initial $100.00 and is eligible for payout. Well you all know that a publisher is eligible for payout only 30 days after the end of the month. So if we do some calculation we find that the publisher you have referred have to make $100 in just two months only, so the third month he'll be eligible for payout.

Looks like very complicated thought ! I personaly dropped advertising from my websites and working on new strategies to monetize the website. What I suggest you is to simply drop the AdSense referrals from your pages and better opt for other programs. Maybe chitika is still more credible for referrals than AdSense.
