Content or URL : Which one pay more ?
Did you asked the question why AdSense is a good business for bloggers ? because they have content, and what else ? because most bloggers use custom urls in their blogs for better indexing, and yes AdSense is very influenced by this.
The tips of choosing a good title for your post is the key of the success, specially if you put the relevant keywords in the beginning so when rewriting the url they appear the first ones.
Let's see with a concrete example, I took an article of my AJAX blog that contain the keyword e-commerce, let's say I want to target e-commerce Ads on my page. and I hosted in a simple page test.html under a folder named test. Until now nothing special, but when I added an AdSense banner I got Ads for .NET forms, PDF forms, automated forms ... while the keyword forms is used once, and form twice ... strange !
Well, let's try something else I renamed the folder to commerce, and kept the test.html, the same Ads still displayed. I finally renamed the test.html to index.html and e-commerce Ads started to be alternated with blogging ones. We're in the good way !
Finally I just make some changes on my article to make the keywords e-commerce appear in the beginning, and now no alternation we have targeted our keyword e-commerce.
Conclusion
The choice of a good title is really important, and it will add more efficiency when your software use customs urls based on your title, not ids of the article. The reason is simple because the content of the page will take time to load, while your URL is the first information that AdSense have about your page to start serving the correct Ads.
